The Mission Statement for Assemblies of God Sunday School describes it's central role:
The Willow Praise Sunday School is the foundational strategy in our church for building Great Commission Christians through Bible study groups that engage people of all ages and needs in evangelism, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and worship.
Our Chlldren's Sunday School Ministry includes;
1. Five to six year olds who are not in first grade.
2. First grade students through sixth grade. (This also includes any students who may be twelve years old and in the seventh grade.)
Our teachers use the Teaching Guide published by the General Counsel of the Assemblies of God, Inc.
"We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the revelation of God to humankind, giving us absolute rules of faith and conduct. (Hebrew 4:12) NIV
Every lesson is based on a Bible scripture. Every lesson has a stated objective and life application plan. Each segment of every lesson is focused on the objective because "The belief in God's Word is the foundation for knowing God." (2 Peter 1:1) NIV
For Example:
1. We help our children to know that Jesus is God our Savior, and through His shed blood we receive the inheritance of eternal life. (Romans 9:5) (Titus 3:4-7) NIV
2. We help our children to know that the Holy Spirit is God. He is not just a ghostly presence or an "it." (1 Cor. 2:11-13) (1 Cor. 6:19-20) NIV
3. As a result of our Sunday School lesson, we help our children to fulfill God's destiny for their lives as we teach them to love and learn about God through the word of God.
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." (Psalm 119:105) NIV
